"When I listen El Solitario I travel to the Far West, Tarantino style. Stoner Rock with epic almost cinematographic brushstrokes”. (Scanner FM / Bi FM)

"A surprising and ambitious album that unites 70s classic sound with 90s energy”. Jordi Meya (Rockzone)
“9 tracks full of energy, power and an interesting, unique and innovative composition” Jason Cenador – (MariskalRock.com)
“El Solitario is an album that, even at the very first listening, you feel that you’re in front something special” Natxolas – (RockAndRollArmy.com)

Viven is an Alternative Rock band from Barcelona, Spain. Their first album, El Solitario, is a concept record that tells the story of the leader of an Indian tribe that is destroyed by white men. Being the only one survivor, the leader of the tribe's hunger of vengeance brings him to cross the desert with just one goal: bloody justice. El Solitario travels by the thoughts, emotions and delusions of his main character and delves into the feelings of impotence, anger and despair of the human being. In creating this environment, the band has developed a rich instrumental base that navigates from the most desertic Stoner to the contundent Progressive, mixing it with psychedelic, groovy and epic landscapes. Banjos, dobros, trumpets and other typical American Folk instruments melt with the guitars, bass and drums wall of sound to immerse us into the El Solitario universe.

This first album has been mixed and mastered by the brothers Santi and Victor García at Estudios Ultramarinos Costa Brava (Toundra, Berri Txarrak…). The album was released in November 2014 on Digipack. Viven is now presenting El Solitario on their national tour, and they will hit the European road soon.

[ESP] "No sabemos cómo será el rock del futuro, pero escuchando el increíble debut de Viven podemos hacernos una idea" José María Carrasco (RNE – Radio3)

"Still alive and well" Jordi Tardà (Catalunya Radio)

Track Name: Clouds And Horses
Clouds of sand and dust come across the land ◈ I ain’t got much, ain’t got much to face the wind ◈ And its fury will bring desolation ◈ To the land where our parents grew ◈ Hear teeth grinding as horses gallop on our chests ◈ Delivering innocence to the hands of the bad white man ◈ And his greed will bring desolation ◈ To the land where our parents grew ◈ Neither a life could heal this fire. Neither a thousand would ◈ I see through hell, I can see through hell, how could I smile? ◈ I have seen through hell and I see through hell, how could I smile? ◈ All is sand and dust. The flames took it all. ◈ And I see the setting sun by the hills where the cowards run ◈ And their fury brought desolation ◈ To the lands where our parents grew ◈ Neither a life could heal this fire. Neither a thousand would ◈ I see through hell, I can see through hell, how could I smile? ◈ I have seen through hell and I see through hell, how could I smile? ◈ Is it burying me? Is it burning?
Track Name: Breathe The Mist Of Panic Anthems
Eyes dance from east to west, who will mend the mess you made? ◈ I packed home at my back and left my world behind taking demons by my side ◈ And run, now I’m on the run but the wolves are coming closer at my back ◈ Is the sinner taking leadership now, whispering tunes of never shinning stars? ◈ Breathe in ◈ Breathe in ◈ I’ve seen how bone turns coal, who will calm this choke? ◈ I packed my world at my back and left it all behind taking demons by my side ◈ And run, now I’m on the run but the wolves are coming closer at my back ◈ Is the sinner taking leadership now, whispering tunes of never shinning stars? ◈ Breathe in ◈ Breathe in ◈ Breathe in ◈ Breathe in ◈ Breathe the mist of panic anthems
Track Name: The Woods I Swallow
I lead the worms under the trees instead of searching rabbits for tomorrow ◈ I’ll keep on rolling as it beats, the tune will never stop until I’m hollow ◈ The wounds are friends now of my feet, the stand-and-fall binomial is all that I know ◈ The daisies gathered last year were not enough for those i used to follow ◈ I live and roam under the trees instead of searching shelter for tomorrow ◈ The woods are too thick for my wheels, the energy is being lost in static motion ◈ I'll keep on rolling 'till I'm sick. Still I'm here, of course still I swallow ◈ I leave the worms beneath my feet and try to pull my bones to see the ocean
Track Name: Ride The Sun
The further place was here, it’s been a while of a thousand years ◈ I dragged my feet and soul through the fields of frozen tears ◈ And I became the whore ◈ The world was in my hands, my pockets still are full of sand ◈ Until I'm disconnected, I'll ride the sun, I'll fade to land ◈ And I became the whore of forever more ◈ I'll wander the land my eyes can see ◈ I'll let myself die by the hills on moving fields ◈ I can’t remember me before the eclipse, I can't remember me
Track Name: Moon
I hear the moon singing hanged in the sky ◈ Her tune falls swinging through winter's night ◈ She says: "come here I'll clean your wounds with starlight, in where I live there is no ruin, no greed, no anger..." ◈ Then I picked up a chair and I picked up a ladder and I fell and I fell... Below where I started ◈ I was asked to walk but I am crawling begging you to leave the earth without me ◈ Blind, across the silver desert while the wind blows my brain to visit places I once was ◈ Her voice is weaker every night and it is hard to hear the sweetest cynical lullaby ◈ Then I picked up a chair and I picked up a ladder and I fell and I fell... Below where I started ◈ Then I stepped every rock and I climbed up the mountains to built up a tower but the day came again and collapsed all with light ◈ I was asked to talk but I am howling begging you to leave the earth without me
Track Name: The Lights
I've lost the sense of home through forever I have flown alone ◈ My feet are wet and cold the chill has slowly reached the core ◈ A trip in through the grey the liquid space becomes the way ◈ The world was turned upside down so in fear I started swallowing the world and I've kissed the horizon ◈ The lights that shined before my eyes were a lie ◈ The words that burned between the lines were a lie ◈ I fainted by the shades, I've lived through all that's hidden to the eye but printed in the sight ◈ My brain might is out of date, I believe that all what I've been looking for can be found beneath the floor ◈ The lights that shined before my eyes were a lie ◈ The words that burned between the lines were a lie ◈ All dreams have fled slightly through the flames ◈ And the bark of my hands scraps my dirty face ◈ And it tears and it hurts and it takes my will
Track Name: Release The Butterflies
Animals emerging from sea like columns of water ◈ Tell me if you can breath ◈ Shaking hands losing their strength signing our fate, showing their nerve ◈ Seems to me that ◈ Something was changing in this cup full of faith... ◈ When the ship opens its way into the sea and the keel is full of lead ◈ See the giant broken crying on his knees, he regrets the disarray ◈ So the soldier soars his axe over his sight to release the butterflies ◈ To release the butterflies
